The garden town of Okahandja hosted the Standard Bank-sponsored Alex Angermund Handicap Saturday, at which Kaapstad stole the limelight in the main and final race of the day.

Horse racing enthusiasts from all corners of the country came to witness an entertaining 15-card event.

It was the main race that had the horse racing experts talking.

Having a good start resulted in a good end for horse Kaapstad, whose jockey then took the bragging rights and the day's jackpot.

It is likely that the races will remain one-sided affairs in upcoming events as the second and 3rd place finishers did not threaten the new horse on the block owned by Winnie Christiaans and jockey Hatlig Swartbooi.

Ryno Angermund was thankful for Standard Bank's sponsorship and heaped praise on the owner of Kaapstad and crowds who came to witness the action.

Next to host a race will be the eastern town of Gobabis on the 5th of November.
