The new Gaob of the Tsaoxudaman at Otjimbingwe, Joshua Seibeb, has vowed to unite his subjects and address social challenges in his area of jurisdiction.
In his first address, Gaob Seibeb vowed to address challenges such as unemployment and social ills among the youth at Otjimbingwe.
"Today, as the chief of the Tsaoxudaman traditional community, which includes every person that resides in our area of jurisdiction, I ask that you render your support and use me to meaningfully address fighting out poverty, hunger, and the high unemployment rate in our community."
Gaob Seibeb said he would also rule in accordance with the principles of the Traditional Authorities Act and commit to upholding peace and stability among the community and the entire nation.
"With the powers vested in me by the customary law, I will ensure in my capacity as the chief of the Tsaoxudaman that, together with the executive council and youth council, we will address and root out all evil from my community, and furthermore, his excellency, I pledge my full support in all developmental programs of your government at all levels."
In her keynote address, Deputy Minister of Urban and Rural Development Natalia |Goagoses urged the Tsoaxudaman Traditional Authority to always stand firm, be united, and work together in the interest of the community.
"The disputes within some of our traditional communities have really reached an alarming rate, and I would like to remind you on this day that disputes not solved on time result in conflicts that are costly, derail focus from serving the people, and disturb peace and stability in the communities as well."
Gaob Seibeb replaces the late Gaob Bethuel Haraseb, who died more than seven years ago.
