Namibians need to appreciate the importance of entrepreneurship as the main job creator.

These were the sentiments expressed by the Minister of Industrialization and Trade, Lucia Iipumbu, at the 2022 Namibian Business Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Windhoek.

The event, which takes place annually, inducts a distinguished group of entrepreneurs and corporate business leaders in their respective portfolios into the Namibia Business Hall of Fame.

The nominees were inducted under the categories of emerging entrepreneurs, laureates, and honorary laureates.

The event aims to give recognition to Namibian businessmen and women who continue to contribute to Namibia's economy through their hard work and diligence in different fields and industries.

Iipumbu commended the nominees and implored them to continue flourishing; she also urged them to collaborate.

Currency trader Michael Amushelelo encouraged the audience to teach their children about entrepreneurship at an early age.

The 2022 nominees include Dr. Martha Uumati, the Managing Director of Erongo Marine Enterprises; Ester Kali, the CEO of Letshego Holdings Namibia; Estelle Tjipuka, the CEO of Emerge Coaching; Moses Helao, the owner of Karakulia Weavers; Sebulon David, the founder and CEO of Glowdom; Tega Shiimi ya Shiimi, the CEO of SANLAM Investments; as well as Dr. Anicia Peters, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Namibia.
