A 36-year-old resident of Utokoka Village in Kavango East's Mashare Constituency,  Andreas Kampala died on the spot after he was stabbed with a knife.

According to NamPol's Kavango East Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Bonifatius Kanyetu, Kampala was stabbed after a disagreement.

Kampala and the suspect were allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Rundu Magistrate's Court today.

Meanwhile, 76-year-old Lukas Mutaro died in a fire at Shighuru village in Ndonga Linena Constituency over the weekend.

Police preliminary investigations indicate that the man fell asleep while smoking a cigarette, which could have started the flame.

Mutaro Mushongo's remains were found at the entrance of the corrugated iron sheet structure, an indication that he attempted to escape the blaze.

Kanyetu says no foul play is suspected.
