The City of Windhoek Council is expected to elect new political leadership at 14:30 this afternoon.
The city is being led by a coalition, with Landless People's Movement (LPM) councilor Sade Gawa!Nas as mayor, who took over from Affirmative Repositioning Movement councilor Dr Job Amupanda.
The coalition had elected Independent Patriots for Change Councillor, Ndeshihafela Larandja, as chairperson of the Management Committee for two years consecutively.
Larandja, together with her fellow IPC councilors, were later removed after a successful vote of no confidence was passed by the Council.
This afternoon, the political leadership will elect a new mayor, deputy mayor, and a new management committee.
