In the Otjozondjupa Region, women in uniform are ready to play their part during the countrywide Operation Basadi, targeting suspects and wanted persons for cases of violence against women, children, and vulnerable persons.
In a meeting held at the Otjiwarongo police station on the operation aimed at ending violence against women and children, the discussion focused on rape, murder, kidnapping, and assault with the intent to cause bodily harm.
They will also be targeting online sexual abuse, human trafficking, crimen injuria, baby dumping, and child neglect.
Chief Inspector Fennie Zinaka says the operation will also target bars that are operating outside their liquor license.
The patrols will not only be done using vehicles but on foot as well.
