The Walvis Bay Corridor Group and its stakeholders have taken it upon themselves to provide free health screening to truck drivers.
About a hundred truckers received free health check-ups and tests ranging from HIV, blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and eye test.
The Ambassador of Walvis Bay Corridor Group, Dr Helena Ndume said, it is high time that truck drivers are accorded such courtesy while commending them for an enormous role they played in transporting goods at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Truck drivers commended the Walvis Bay Corridor Group for the initiative saying these types of services are hard to come by and expensive if one has to do them at own cost.
The truckers did not only receive these free gestures but also gift hampers to continue their journey.
