World Cervical Cancer Awareness Month is a global health event observed for the entire month of January every year.

Clinical and radiation oncologist Dr. Laina Iiyambo raised concerns regarding the alarming surge of cervical cancer cases in the northern regions.

The Walvis Bay Corridor Group and its stakeholders have taken it upon themselves to provide free health screening to truck drivers.

About a hundred truckers received free health check-ups and tests ranging from HIV, blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and eye test.

The Ambassador of Walvis Bay Corridor Group, Dr Helena Ndume said,  it is high time that truck drivers are accorded such courtesy while commending them for an enormous role they played in transporting goods at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
