The Ndaitwah family organized a special thanksgiving ceremony for Deputy Prime Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, who survived a fatal accident five years ago.
The ceremony also celebrated her 70th birthday.
The Anglican Church at Okongo was packed to the rafters with well-wishes from all walks of life.
It was a joyous occasion marked by songs and praises from choirs from various churches, including those from the Kunene, Hardap, and ||Kharas regions.
Anglican Bishop Patrick Djuulume administered the benedictions to the Ndaitwah family as well as Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila and her husband, who were among the dignitaries.
Nandi-Ndaitwah survived a fatal accident in 2017 between Oshivelo and Tsumeb while she was on her way from Okongo, where she spent Christmas with her family, to her farm near Tsumeb.
The vehicle in which she was traveling collided head-on with another vehicle. The accident claimed two lives in another vehicle.
Nandi-Ndaitwah, who is also the Swapo Party Vice President, expressed gratitude for the support she received from all.
Senior government officials and Swapo leaders were among the guests.
