Operation Boots on the Ground remains active in the Kavango East Region, and with that in mind, the Walvis Bay Corridor Group and the Road Funds Administration donated operational equipment to the police.
The donation includes chairs, reflectors, folding tables, flashlights, rain jackets, cones, and gazebos, according to Police Acting Regional Commander and Deputy Commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu, to aid in the ongoing operation.
"Today is a very good occasion for me, and I am very happy to have received donations from the Walvis Bay Corridor Group in conjunction with RFA. The articles on display make me happy because they are the necessary equipment for our operation; as you can see, our Boots on the Ground operation is still going on, and there was a need for us to have operational equipment."
He says police cannot combat crime on their own and has called on the business community and individuals to join the bandwagon.
"This equipment arrived at an opportune time because the operation is currently underway, and we are overjoyed that our work will be easier now. I would like to encourage other stakeholders and the business community to join us. Imagine that all of us are concerned about crime, and that crime is an enemy of all of us. When we join hands and lend each other a helping hand of this nature, it makes our work much easier, and other businesses and other companies should join us."
The donation will be shared with police in the Kavango West Region.
