Flood victim Sondag |Hobexab is finally buried at the Epako Cemetery. Sondag died in December after being swept away by heavy rains while sleeping under a bridge in the capital.

The mood at the funeral service was somber as Sondag's mother, siblings and mourners paid their final respects.

Sondag has been living on the streets of Windhoek for the past 13 years after dropping out of school, to eke out a living.

The delay was due to the festive season break when most government offices were closed.

The Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare provided the coffin while the Omaheke Regional Council provided food parcels. The Office of the Omaheke Governor provided the tent and the Gobabis Municipality availed the grave site for the burial.
