The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) and MTC Dome in Swakopmund signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The MoU is set to pave the way for the two institutions to work together in different areas.
Strategically located in the coastal town of Swakopmund, the Dome is merely a walking distance away from the beach.
It is the largest indoor one-stop facility in the country, which include a conference center, a hotel with a sea view, as well as a high-performance center that hosts several events during the year.
In line with its mandate and sport being a priority area for the broadcaster, nbc saw it appropriate to partner with the organization.
The MoU was signed by nbc director General Stanley Similo and the Chief Executive Officer of the MTC Dome, Stephanus Engelbrecht.
MTC Dome's Chief Executive Officer, Stephanus Engelbrecht said the partnership is just a puzzle in the bigger picture that is very, very necessary because at the MTC Dome, they create a lot of stories, they work with talented people that are willing to make a change and to become future stars.
The nbc hosted sports and entertainment events at the venue before, including WorldSkills Africa Vocational Skills Competition last year.
The Director of nbc, Stanley Similo said the Dome came very, very handy and as they were seated there, he had discussions with the team and they said "look, maybe the best thing that we should be doing is to craft and carve a relationship that will seek to give both entities benefits."
Similo says nbc is excited to partner with MTC Dome.
"There is so much in terms of content and what is happening and taking place at the dome for nbc being a transmission belt of what is happening within your area Swakop and around, we believe that we are the best place to be able to tell that on your behalf."
