The need to reform the electoral system were some of the discussions at the SADC Electoral Advisory Council team currently underway in Windhoek.

The post-election advisory council held a closed-door meeting with the SADC Ambassadors and High Commissioners in Namibia.

The delegates are in the country for an eight-day mission to conduct a post-election review of the Presidential and National Assembly elections that took place in November 2019.

The review is meant to provide an opportunity for SADC to support member states, by assessing how the SADC Electoral Observation Mission recommendations have been implemented before the next elections are held.

The delegation will visit officials and engage the Electoral Commission of Namibia and Political Parties.
