Seasoned cyclists Drikus Coetzee and Melissa Hinz took the men's and women's overall victories at the 2023 Tour de Windhoek which concluded on Sunday at Von Bach Dam outside Okahandja.

The 2023 edition of the popular Tour de Windhoek started in Windhoek on Thursday afternoon and ended with the hosting of the final stage at Von Bach Dam outside Okahandja.

Sunday's stages took the riders to the Ovitoto road up and down over the various distances as the battle for the yellow jersey and other top prizes were at stake.

Despite not having the last laugh in the final stage both Drikus Coetzee and Melissa Hinz had accumulated enough points in previous stages which was enough to present them the overall victory in this year's edition of the prestigious Tour de Windhoek.

The 2023 Tour de Windhoek was once again spiced by the South African teams who did not disappointed by claiming today's last stage at Von Bach Dam through Brandon Downes who proved his mettle on the bike, while the Swakopmund Cycles4u ladies team led by Nina Holtrup won the women's category of the final stage.
