The Namibia Transport and Taxi Union (NTTU) and student leaders from various institutions of higher learning have proposed to lower taxi fares for learners and senior citizens. The reduction will only be applicable for the duration of the state of emergency. But the Road Transportation Board of Namibia says that such a reduction can only be implemented once gazetted.
