The Landless People's Movement (LPM) leader, Bernadus Swartbooi, has urged young people to become the drivers of change in society. 

Swartbooi made the call at the celebration of the party's youth command element at Youth Day at Keetmanshoop. 

The Swapo Party Pioneers Movement held its second conference at Eenhana, where they were sent off with the 10 commandments urging them to hold on to the party's values.

The Wet Landed Small Pelagic Association has raised alarm over illegal fishing of pilchards, a species placed under a moratorium.

Its chairperson, Johnny Doëseb, believes some horse mackerel operators are deliberately targeting pilchards to maximise their profits.

The Cabinet approved the common guidelines for the operationalisation of the National Youth Fund, which include an initial outlay of N$257 million and subsequent yearly official subventions.
