A sport that combines swimming, teamwork, and intense endurance is gradually returning to Namibia’s sporting landscape through a renewed grassroots push.

Entries for the 2026 Nedbank Desert Dash will officially open in June as one of Namibia’s most celebrated sporting events prepares for its 22nd edition.

The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) has reacted to new U.S. travel advisories and entry restrictions linked to the Bundibugyo Ebola virus outbreak, warning against the use of broad travel bans during public health emergencies.

The Bethanie Magistrate’s Court on Monday granted former NAMDIA employee Stephanus Charles Rhoman and senior police officer Willem Stoffel bail of N$8,000 each.

The two are accused of defeating the ends of justice and contravening the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.

The Roads Authority is satisfied with the rehabilitation work on the Ondobe-Eenhana road, which commenced recently. 

The 30-kilometre stretch is being rehabilitated at a cost of N$365 million.
