The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources says it is shocked that the government has no shares in some mines.

The committee visited three of the Otjozondjupa Region's six mines.

The MP's first visit was to the Cheetah Cement Plant.

Namibian Breweries Ltd. (NBL) is optimistic about emerging opportunities through its recent transaction with Heineken and its acquisition of Ditshell Namibia, which would ensure long-term sustainability for the company and create a regional beverage champion for Southern Africa. 

The Namibia Film Commission (NFC), through its strategic plan, aims to create value by providing a "one-stop shop" to both local and international filmmakers.

The 'one-stop shop' for film will permit film funding, location facilitation, training, and market research data, among others.

The Rogate Primary School in Otjiwarongo held a pre-Independence celebration under the school's own theme, 'Independently United'.

Before independence, Rogate Primary School was only for the Damara-speaking learners, as other tribes attended school elsewhere.

Young people are underrepresented in the tour guide subsector nationwide.

A survey by the Environment, Forestry, and Tourism Ministry (MEFT) indicates that out of 500 registered tour guides, 17% are youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
