The Electoral Commission of Namibia has declared the just-ended by-election in Swakopmund Constituency as having been free and fair. ECN's returning officer Amos Nguaiko has further commended political parties for their peaceful conduct during campaigns but bemoaned the low voter turnout.

Mahongora Kavihuha claims that Namibia is not integrating the international conventions, the country has ratified, into the legal system so that they be recognised and benefit the labour force. Namibia is said to have ratified 17 conventions of the International Labour Organisation with more soon to be ratified.

Chairperson of National Leaders assigned to the |Khomas Region, Pohamba Shifeta has urged SWAPO PARTY members to familiarise themselves with the party's Constitution and code of conduct to avoid infights. Shifeta made the call at the party's Ordinary Congress of the |Khomas Region.

A training course in nationhood and national pride development by the Namibia Institute of Public Administration and Management (NIPAM) has been approved by Cabinet.

Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) candidate Louisa Kativa has won the Swakopmund Constituency by-election.
