The Chairperson of the National Council, Lukas Muha, spoke at the Annual Conference of Speakers of African Parliaments, held this week from 29 to 30 September in Midrand, South Africa.

Minister of Urban and Rural Development James Sankwasa said chiefs are responsible for their people and appealed to both politicians and traditional leaders to ensure communities benefit from government support.

A group of about 150 medical graduates have raised concerns over timelines and placement of interns with the Ministry of Health and Social Services. 

The Okahandja Town Council says several development projects are nearing completion, including a new fire station with a cost of over N$17 million, and they are scheduled to be inaugurated next month.

Okahandja Mayor Beatrice Kotungondo gave an update on ongoing investigations into the killings that occurred in the town earlier this year and on the municipality's steps to improve public safety.
