Tsumeb town in the Oshikoto Region is among the top 10 towns in the country with the highest urban populations, according to the 2023 Namibia Population and Housing Census.

The town, which ranked last on the list of 10, had a population of 34,960 residents in 2023.

Home Affairs denies biometric chip implants for e-ID

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security (MHAISS) has assured the nation that the electronic Identity (e-ID) card will not require biometric chips to be injected into their bodies.

The ministry said the e-ID is a physical card, which is safe, inclusive, and will minimise fraud.
