The first Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC) Dialogue aimed at tackling youth matters convened in Windhoek today.
The four-day dialogue is attended by youth delegates, policymakers, and leaders from across 56 Commonwealth member states.
The Ohangwena Region has recorded a number of achievements in sectors such as health, agriculture, water and land distribution during the 2024/2025 financial year.
These achievements were reported by Ohangwena Governor Kadiva Hamutumwa during her maiden State of the Region Address at Eenhana.
The Executive Director in the Office of the Prime Minister, Gladice Pickering, has said that while the drought relief programme may have come to an end, food security remains a major concern for the current administration.
The Ohangwena Region has recorded 3,768 cases of malaria and 11 deaths since the outbreak last year.
Governor Kadiva Hamutumwa said the region experienced a malaria outbreak at the beginning of 2024, which lasted into this year.
Rehoboth has secured second place in the 2025 Kwêla Town of the Year competition, hosted by the kykNET DSTV channel.
Bloemhof, located on the Gauteng/North West border in South Africa, was announced as the overall winner of this year's competition.
