Reverend Nicole Ashwood of the World Council of Churches has urged the churches to engage with perpetrators of gender-based violence as part of a holistic approach to addressing the issue.

The Zambezi Region records an average of 34 cases of gender-based violence on a monthly basis. 

According to a regional review by NamPol’s GBV unit, 90% of the victims are female and 10% are male.
