Administration workshop held for coaches

This past weekend, the Khomas Football Youth League hosted an administration workshop to equip their members with the right tools and knowledge at club level. The Khomas Youth League is one of the active leagues in the country as they play almost every weekend at the NFA Technical Centre. This weekend, however, the League bosses decided against playing football and focus on the administration of clubs. League chairman Lazarus Xoagub explained the reason behind the importance of the workshop. “We felt that many of the football academies put their focus on coaching the kids, but most really lack the administration skills to run their academy properly,” he said. The workshop was conducted by FIFA Instructor and Sport Consultant Mathew Haikali. Haikali, who offered his services for free, said the participation of the clubs representatives and initial questions showed the need for such workshops. He said the workshop was very much a need for clubs as most coaches were passionate about the sport but lacked the necessary skills. Haikali further said one day was not enough to transfer the much-needed information but that it was a good starting point. He announced that he would be open for more in-depth courses even for other leagues countrywide.
