Windhoek Field Archery Club hosted a shooting competition on Saturday 3 March 2018 at their range outside Windhoek. A group of 12 Archers started their Saturday morning competition in fantastic cool weather with high humidity and ended the day in good spirits. After a long absence from archery due to injury, Bea Viviers, joined the group again. Archers in the field division shoot distances from 10-80 yards in their various categories and had to take into account the different angles of the butts on the range. The Archery Association of Namibia’s’ Field division is using every opportunity to prepare for the World Field Archery Championships that will be hosted in Potchefstroom at the beginning of October this year. This prestigious event will attract archers from all over the world and is hosted every two years in a different country. Saturday the 18th will see the Archers shooting the distances from 90-20 meters and Sunday’s Competition will be distances from 60m-20 meters with eliminations. Top ranked Archers are expected to participate in this event.
