Namibia Football Association President Frans Mbidi said he will not grant any interview to the media until the first of April 2018 this year. Since the news broke that NFA president Frans Mbidi is not willing to renew the contract of long-serving NFA administrator and secretary General Barry Rukoro, there has been speculation among football fans as to what is likely to happen to Rukoro when his contract comes to an end this month. It is reported that Mbidi made the comments in the media and some football pundits feel the NFA Secretary General's position should not be in the hands of the president. However, according to the NFA constitution, only the President has the right to propose the appointment or the firing of a Secretary General but the actual appointment is to be done by the NFA Executive committee of which Mbidi is a Chairman. When asked to comment on Rukoro's fate, Mbidi told nbc sport that he has put all interviews with the media on hold until the first of April. The NFA President also declined to make any further information available to NBC with regards to Rukoro's fate, said he will not discuss staff issues in the media as it is unethical. Mbidi said he is currently pre-occupied with organising an executive committee meeting and can only grant the media audience in April as he does not want to pre-empt anything at the moment. A well-placed source told NBC that 63 percent of the executive members support the president's view and want new blood in Mungunda's street.
