NCCS Pupkewitz cyclists satisfied with Tour de Windhoek performance

Windhoek-The NCCS Pupkewitz cyclists who took part in the just-ended Tour De Windhoek are happy with their performance at the event, which took place last weekend in Windhoek. The three-day Tour de Windhoek, which started on the 21st of September, was a great success, according to the Manager of the NCCS Pupkewitz Cycling Team, Eben Ezer Iita. Six riders - namely Jafet Amukushu, Fiffy Kashuululu, Thulasizwe Mxence, Marckernzy Eiseb, Ananias Ananias and Pieter Seifert, participated in the event. Iita was delighted by the boys' performance and said one could clearly see that they have improved. “I'm very very happy, I see there is an improvement, if we can go to next yea I can see maybe 80% overall performance” Iita said. NBC also spoke to two of the cyclists- Kashuululu and Amukushu, who raced in a time of 5:32:01 and among other achievements, emerged as the winners of the Open men's category in the Tour de Windhoek' Light Solo. “It was a different race, quite fast , but the Namibians were keeping up and challenged as well. There was also a huge improvement from last yea”Kashuululu said. “My target for Tour de WHK was basically taking the Windhoek Light and I managed to take the Open man category by coming first. Tour de Windhoek was a training session for me for the bigger race, which is the Hanganga Hake event. I was happy with the performance “Amukushu said The cyclists are now preparing for a coastal event, which is the Hangana Hake race at Walvisbay on the 2nd of October.
