The tug of war between the Namibia Football Association and the suspended Namibia Premier League seems to be far from over. The two have been at each other's throats over a series of issues. At the centre of the storm between the two football bodies is a directive from the NFA to the NPL, which states that no teams will be relegated or promoted in the upcoming season. Speaking on Nbc's Football magazine show Soccer Pitch , it became clear that there are no signs of the two parties working together in the near future. "The rules are clear. We cannot negotiate with a suspended body. The NPL should comply with our directive and in the absence, they should forget" Haikali stressed. NPL Vice-Chairman Kandas Paulino had none of that. "We want to talk and our stand is also clear as per our rules. We won't allow ourselves to be bullied to an agreement" Paulino said. On the same platform, Chief Administrator Freddy Mwiya urged the two parties to put their differences to bed in the interest of the game. "The two parties should come to a table and solved this. We can see the players are the most affected by their impasse"Mwiya said. A recent meeting organized by the line Ministry to put an end to the ongoing war could not yield immediate results. The last solution is expected to come from the Court of Arbitration for Sports in Switzerland where the NPL has opened a case against the NFA over their suspension.
