NSC introduces 2018-2022 Strategic Plan

Windhoek -The Namibia Sports Commission - together with the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sport, Youth and National Service, Emma Kantema-Gaomas officially launched their 2018-2022 Strategic Plan on Tuesday. The four-year plan of the Commission was drafted for sport federations and the people of Namibia in line with their mandate, vision, mission and values. It entails five objectives that have been established according to the framework of the fifth National Development Plan (NDP) 5 and the Harambee Prosperity Plan. The objectives are: · To enhance sport development and participation · To improve sport management capacity · To ensure compliance to legal and regulatory sport frameworks · To promote financial self-reliance in sport · To enhance operational excellence Kantema – Gaomas shed more light on the details of the ambitious document saying that boards and federations should set strategies, direction and goals that indicate the outlines. She then added that consultations were made with all sport federations to put this strategic plan into action. She also urged the federations to work as a team and not as a group.
