The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) has announced that this year's Miss Namibia pageant will be held in the Oshana Region towards July.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Miss Namibia Organisation has said the pageant is not all about handing out crowns and sashes but more about creating a platform for social change.

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation has reduced the application form fees for Miss Namibia from N$850 to N$500 for Miss Namibia 2023 while the fees for Miss Teen Namibia decreased from N$700 to N$400.

The application deadline for the pageant has also been extended to 12 April.

The National Broadcasting Corporation has fully taken over Miss Namibia.

This was announced at a reveal event in Windhoek.
Miss Namibia National Director Conny Maritz handed over the management of Miss Namibia to Umbi Karuaihe-Upi as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Miss USA, R'Bonney Gabriel, was crowned Miss Universe 2023 last night during the 71st edition of the beauty pageant.

Representatives from 84 countries participated in the competition.
