Zambezi Education stakeholders called to play their part without blaming each other

Zambezi Governor, Alufea Sampofu, says the region's NSSCO and NSSCA results over the past years have been disappointing.

Sampofu wonders where the problem is if all teachers are qualified, while the environment in most schools is conducive to learning and teaching.

Therefore, he called on education stakeholders to play their part without blaming each other.

The Zambezi Governor observed that it is not clear whether all parents are involved in their children's education to assist teachers.

||Kharas Education to re-introduce extra classes for Grade 11, 12

The ||Kharas Education Directorate is set to re-introduce extra classes during holidays for Grade 11 and Grade 12 AS level learners to improve their performance.

Ryan Assegaai, Inspector for the Kalahari Circuit, revealed this in an interview with nbc News.

Assegaai says the decision to reintroduce the extra classes was agreed on during a three-day principals meeting that ended on Friday. 

The principals gathering analysed Grade 4 to AS level learner performance for the 2023 academic year.

IUM continues to increase intake capacity

The International University of Management (IUM) continues to increase its intake capacity annually.

The school that started with one learner in 1994 has a population of 13,500 students this year.

Speaking at the official opening of the 2023 academic year, Professor David Namwandi, the founder of IUM, says the university continues to reinvent itself to provide quality education.

IUM, he says, is determined to equip students with problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity skills that are aligned with the 21st century.

The Forum's Chairperson Katrina Elizabeth |Goagoses made the call on the sidelines of the annual gathering of school principals in the ||Kharas Region at Karasburg.  

|Goagoses says the forum's main focus is to step up parent involvement in schools and be part of the monitoring and evaluation of teaching and learning.
