LPM demands charges against Guame Stephanus withdrawn

The Landless People's Movement has labelled charges against Namdeb's employee, Guame Stephanus, a witch hunt.

Stephanus also serves as an LPM representative on the Oranjemund Town Council.

Stephanus faces charges of putting the company's name in disrepute.

This reportedly follows his opinion piece that reads, 'There are diamonds, and the people are still poor, and green hydrogen cannot come, and the people are still poor".

During their demonstration, protestors demanded that disciplinary charges against Stephanus be withdrawn.

LPM calls for charges against arrested councillors dropped

The Chairperson of the ||Kharas Regional Council, Josef Isaacks, has called for the charges against the Karasburg Mayor, the Management Committee Chairperson, and a staff member in the office of the Karasburg CEO's to be dropped.

Isaacks said this in a media statement following the arrest of the trio yesterday by the Anti-Corruption Commission.

Isaacks said the Karasburg Town Council did not conspire on charges, nor did the mayor abuse her powers to warrant the ACC's intervention.

Omusati Police investigates fraud charges against ELCIN senior pastor at Nakayale Parish

The Omusati Police is investigating a case of fraud after a male senior pastor of ELCIN in the Western Diocese of the Nakayale Parish in Outapi, allegedly defrauded the church of N$3.4 million.

The money, which is said to have been embezzled over three months, has not yet been recovered and the suspect who is known is yet to be arrested.

The Omusati Regional Commander, Commissioner Ismael Basson told nbc News that the suspect will face a case of theft, fraud, and corruption.
