The draft Migration Bill seeks to align the three-decade-old immigration legislation with current migration trends and challenges. 

The Director of Immigration and Border Control, Danelie |Naris, revealed this during ||Kharas stakeholder consultations on the draft bill held in Keetmanshoop. 

The Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security, Lucia Iipumbu, toured various border posts in the Zambezi Region.

These visits were aimed at assessing service delivery challenges.

Iipumbu made the call as she prepared to visit various border posts and the ministry's projects in the Zambezi Region.

The governments of Namibia and Botswana will jointly ensure that robust information technology systems and infrastructure are put in place to improve border management and allow the two countries' national systems to function seamlessly with one another.
