Cabinet has expressed concern over the increasing number of gruesome killings reported across Namibia while also taking note of operational instability at the Northern Regional Electricity Distributor (NORED).

Employees of the Northern Regional Electricity Distributor (NORED) have embarked on a nationwide strike, demanding a 6% salary increase.

They said the weeklong strike will continue until their demands are met.

In its efforts to address challenges relating to the provision of electricity services in the northern parts of Namibia, electricity supplier, Northern Regional Electricity Distributor (NORED), has entered into a three-year agreement with the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc).
