Flights to Luderitz resume

The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) has announced that flights to Luderitz Airport resumed on Friday.

Fly Namibia on Thursday cancelled its scheduled flights to and from the airport due to safety issues caused by unforeseen mechanical problems with the firefighting vehicle operated by the NAC.

The spokesperson of NAC, Dan Kamati, said in a media statement that a Notice to Airmen was issued on the availability of airport rescue and firefighting services, and NAC activated plans to resume operations as soon as possible.

Travel Local campaign yields positive results

Team Namibia and other stakeholders have joined hands to promote the local tourism industry within the country for the festive season through the Travel Local campaign, which is coming to an end.

The Green Hydrogen Project at Luderitz has triggered a demand for flights between Windhoek and Luderitz as business travellers travel there.

This was revealed by Fly Namibia Station Controller Elroy Bock in an interview with nbc News.

Bock indicated that the passenger capacity has increased to full capacity since Fly Namibia resumed flights between the southern harbour town and Windhoek. 

Bock also shed light on the expansion of Luderitz Airport.

Fly Namibia issues personal apology to Elizabeth Andgondji

Local airline Fly Namibia says it regrets the emotional distress suffered by Elizabeth Andgondji, whom the airline denied service due to her disability.

The airline says that passengers with special needs are required to make bookings 72 hours in advance and that Andgondji's booking was made at the 11th hour.

The airline further says that the booking agents issued the Miss Ability title holder without disclosing her condition to the airline, which led to the subsequent refusal by the airline to fly her to the north.
