Popular Democratic Movement president McHenry Venaani has voiced concern about expensive land and farms in Namibia, saying there is a need to regulate their purchase prices.

The Hai||om community in the Kunene Region has adopted resolutions that they want to be included in all government development programmes.

The resolution was adopted following a five-day Hai||om San unity conference at Outjo over the weekend.

The land plight of the |Khomanin people is finally heard.

The Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform, Carl Schlettwein, handed over communal land to the |Khomanin Traditional Authority, which said its people have been landless for years.

Churches and civil society organisations have commended the Namibian government for progress made in the housing area, though there are still other critical areas that need redressing, including the pension scheme of the Social Security Commission.

Namibia should adopt a human rights approach that prioritises the needs of its citizens to effectively address challenges like unemployment, poverty, and inequality. 

Kunene Governor Marius Sheya says land reform is crucial for equitable land distribution, addressing historical injustice, and promoting sustainable agriculture and rural development.

He made this remark in his State of the Region Address.

The Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) MP Kennedy Shekupakela questioned the Minister of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform regarding the challenges faced by farmers beyond the Red Line. 

The farming community in the vicinity of Kaukurus in the Omaheke Region's Gobabis Constituency met to discuss developmental matters as an encouragement for the residents to take ownership of development in the region.

The Minister of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform, Carl Schlettwein stressed that the water agenda be accorded the same attention as climate change.
He was speaking after the conclusion of the UN-Water Conference in New York on Friday.
