Two Zambian truck drivers accused of attempted murder have been charged with sexually and physically assaulting a Namibian transgender person at Walvis Bay.

According to the court report, the accused allegedly assaulted the victim by hitting him with an unknown object over the head and body, causing a fracture to the scalp and wounds all over the body.

The victim was transported to the Windhoek State Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to his critical condition.

More than 300 inbound cars passed the Swakopmund roadblock during the early morning hours of Friday, and police expect a high number of inbound vehicles as the Easter weekend progresses.

Many people were seen swimming and playing beach volleyball and soccer in town, while others lazed around in the sun.
