President Mbumba in Zambezi to join 34th Independence Day celebrations

President Nangolo Mbumba is in Katima Mulilo, Zambezi Region, to join the masses in the celebration of the country's 34th Independence Day.

Dr. Mbumba is accompanied by Prime Minister Saara Kugongelwa-Amadhila, Minister in the Presidency Christina ||Hoebes, and Minister of Defence Frans Kapofi.

Flags can now fly at full mast as the official mourning period for the late President Dr. Hage Geingob has ended. 

The public holidays declared on the 25th and 26th of February were only for the mourning period and, as such, will not be observed going forward.

Dune driving claims life of young girl

Pashula Hangula, 13 years old, died in a freak accident this afternoon in the Dune 7 area between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.

The police report indicates that a driver, 21 years old, was allegedly following another vehicle when his vehicle got stuck in the sand as it was ascending to the top of the dune.
