Public Service Commission visits President Nangolo Mbumba

The Public Service Commission (PSC) paid a visit to President Nangolo Mbumba today to update him on the work they carried out during the 2022–2023 financial year.

After being given a detailed report, the President commended the PSC for its work.

The PSC reported that 753 staff members were appointed in government positions below management, with 82% being promoted to positions below management in the Ministry of Health and Social Services.

Cuban President concludes state visit

Cuba's President, Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel y Bermúdez, has concluded his state visit to Namibia.

President Díaz-Canel graced the Heroes Day commemoration as the guest of honour, where he was also bestowed with the Order of the Most Ancient Welwitschia mirabilis, First Class, by President Hage Geingob.

The Cuban leader also paid tribute to Namibia's fallen heroes and heroines, reverently laying a wreath at the Heroes Acre.

This state visit additionally marked the signing of three pivotal agreements between the governments of Cuba and Namibia. 

President Sauli Niinistö to undertake state visit to Namibia

The President of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, will undertake a state visit to Namibia from April 27 to 28, 2023.

 

In a media statement, State House said the visit is part of Finland's engagement with Africa and is part of its strategic goal of growing connections with Africa.

 

This includes extending its diplomatic presence, supporting the African Agenda, and boosting commercial links.

 

President Geingob concludes state visit to South Africa

President Hage Geingob has concluded his three-day state visit to South Africa.

The purpose of the visit was to further strengthen bilateral relations, enhance economic cooperation, explore trade and investment, and identify new areas of cooperation.

Dr. Geingob and his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa, have directed that an audit be carried out on all legal instruments of cooperation before the hosting of the meeting of the Bi-National Commission (BNC). 

Namibia will host the BNC on a date yet to be announced. 

Geingob, Ramaphosa to discuss bilateral issues

State House says President Hage Geingob and his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa will discuss bilateral issues including the Orange River Border question, the Southern African Customs Union as well as regional, continental and international matters of mutual concern.

President Geingob is set to undertake a three-day state visit to South Africa on invitation by President Ramaphosa.
