2 000 Namibians employed in phases of US Embassy construction

The construction of the new American embassy in Windhoek has seen about two thousand Namibians employed at various stages.

The new building has been completed after three years.

Namibia is ranked number two on the World Press Freedom Index of Africa.

The US Ambassador during his first engagement with local media emphasized the significant role media plays in strengthening a democratic system.

Randy Berry stated that free and independent media is vital in a democracy, which he says, is evident in both the US and Namibia.
