The transatlantic slave trade may have ended centuries ago, but its scars continue to shape societies across Africa and the diaspora.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah departed for Accra, Ghana, to attend the High-Level Consultative Conference.

The conference is on the Next Steps to the Landmark United Nations Resolution on the Trafficking of Enslaved Africans.

Ghana and Tanzania will be the focus of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah's diplomatic engagements from 17 to 22 June.
