The residents of Katutura in Windhoek are protesting against the appointment of a debt collector, Red Force, fearing that their services will be terminated for non-payment.

They have also appealed to the City of Windhoek to write off their debts.

The Windhoek High Court has provisionally withdrawn a case in which the members of Heaven Ark Housing are demanding their land and credentials back, which were allegedly taken by the developer Stefan Malan.

The withdrawal of the case has left the group in dismay.

NamPower will waive all interest on outstanding debt accumulated over the past twelve months, provided that customers settle outstanding amounts before the end of this month.

Customers owe the power utility over a billion dollars, with N$842 million overdue.
