The Karaku Marine Company beefed up the food security programme at the Marmer Primary School Community Hostel in Aus, ||Kharas Region, with fish products.

165 learners at the Nconcoma Primary School community hostel in the Kavango East Region do not have enough food to eat.

This has resulted in learners only having lunch and dinner, and no breakfast.

The Keetmanshoop-based Suiderlig Secondary School's fundraising dinner has raised more than N$800,000 for the renovation and expansion of the school hostel. 

Vice President Lucia Witbooi, an alumna of the school, was the guest of honour.

The High Court has overruled a decision by a Procurement Board Review Panel to nullify the bidding process for the supply and delivery of food items to government school hostels.

The decision comes as a result of a review application filed by the Minister of Education, Arts and Culture.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Nandi-Ndaitwah called on the business community to assist the government in building more school hostels.
