Farmers called to desist from evicting employees due to disagreements

The Chairperson of the Omaheke Regional Council, Ignatius Kariseb, has called on the residents, particularly farmers, to desist from evicting employees because of disagreements.

Kariseb said this when he visited the family of Joseph Jacobs, who has been offloaded along the corridors of the Kalahari Constituency, allegedly by the employer at Farm Somekoms.

Kariseb, who is also the councillor of the Kalahari Constituency, called on the farmers to desist from evicting employees over an argument.

Crop farmers called to come up with sustainable agricultural methods

Kalahari Constituency Councillor, Ignatius Kariseb has called on the crop farming communities to come up with sustainable agricultural methods in order to unlock the full potential of the sector.

Kariseb made this remark during the 7th Omaheke Crop Farmers Day held at Blouberg Settlement in the Kalahari Constituency.

Kariseb emphasised that food security in the region is a key aspect of addressing malnutrition in the region.

Kariseb also implored the crop-farming communities to capitalise on Farmers Day to share relevant information about the agricultural sector.

Ignatius Kariseb re-elected as Omaheke Regional Council's Chairperson

Ignatius Kariseb has been re-elected as Omaheke Regional Council's Chairperson, while Piniel Pakarae and Wenzel Kavaka of Epukiro and Otjombinde Constituencies are members of the management committee.

In his acceptance speech, Kariseb promised to foster unity among the council members for the benefit of regional development.

A pressing issue on the table that needs to be addressed is youth unemployment.
