Cabinet to receive project proposals for green hydrogen electrolysers

The Green Hydrogen Council of Namibia will be submitting all the proposals it has received from various companies wanting to develop electrolysers and other relevant products for the green hydrogen industry to Cabinet for further discussions.

The Australia-based mining company Fortescue Future Industries is one of the companies proposing to enter into a joint venture with the Namibian government to produce electrolyses for green hydrogen.

Namibian visual artist scoops 2nd prize in painting competition

A Namibian visual artist, Laimi Mbangula, received a second prize from more than 2,000 African applicants, who took part in the 'My Dream' painting competition.

The event was organised by Chinese organisations.

41 Namibians participated in the competition, and five were shortlisted.

Mbangula's painting, which won the second prize, symbolises the long-lasting friendship between Namibia and China.

The second prize winner received a trophy with a cash prize of $6,000, while the other four shortlisted candidates received $3,000.

Chinese Ambassador stressed that China is not here to colonise Africa

China's Ambassador to Namibia, Zhao Weiping, urged Namibians not to believe the notion that China is pursuing neo-colonialism on the continent, as most African countries have a mutually beneficial relationship with the Asian powerhouse.

Ambassador Weiping made these remarks during a media briefing at the Chinese embassy in Windhoek.
