Lawyer Kadhila Amoomo has called for the regulation of sex work, arguing that the current approach of criminalization is ineffective and only drives the industry underground, increasing risks for both sex workers and the public.

The Head of the Police Higher Profile Investigations Division, Florietha Jantjies, says the Ohangwena Region has recorded 14 cases of human trafficking, of which six are on the court roll. 

The Zambezi Regional Head of Immigration, Daisy Musweu, has cautioned residents of Kongola to be more vigilant against human trafficking.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has emphasised that trafficking in persons has become a significant global issue, resembling modern-day slavery across the world.
