UNIDENTIFIED MAN FOUND DEAD AT GAMMAMS WATER PLANT

The body of an unidentified man was found inside a water treatment machine at the City of Windhoek's Gammams Water Care Works on Sunday.

The body was discovered by a security officer during a routine patrol at the facility, who immediately alerted the authorities.

Members of the National Council (NC) have urged the government to settle outstanding payments owed to veterans who are still alive, as many reached advanced age.

The MPs have also proposed an amendment to the current law regarding the transfer of inheritance of the projects.

Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare said that veterans of the liberation struggle and other deserving Namibians are accorded state or official funerals in accordance with the criteria set out in the Veterans Act.

Dr. Ngurare, however, clarified that not all veterans receive official or state funerals.
