As parents are preparing to send their children back to school, the caretaker of marginalised learners and students at Rundu Erica Uses is still waiting for assistance from good Samaritans to send their children to school.

Erica Uses, also from the marginalised community, is an unemployed mother of four who takes care of more than 55 marginalised learners and students in the Kavango East Region.

She provides food, toiletries, and other basic needs for school. Uses, however, says this has been a struggle each year.

Heroes are often described as selfless people willing to make sacrifices to help others.

49-year-old Erica Uses is a lifeline to more than 60 marginalised youth.

Uses, an unemployed single mother of four, houses about 14 marginalised youth, whom she assists with furthering their studies and provides with food on a daily basis.

Uses says her love of helping others comes from her life experience growing up as a girl in a marginalised community.

The unemployed mother of four says she looks for donors and sponsors to help her lay a foundation for the needy.
