Governor Verna Sinimbo of the Kavango West Region has urged for a united effort in the battle against corruption.

The governor of the Kavango West Region, Verna Sinimbo, has questioned whether census statistics are considered when allocating the regional budget. 

She made these remarks during the Regional Profile presentation at Nkurenkuru.

Kavango West Governor Verna Sinimbo's fruit tree planting campaign in the region also promotes creative industries, aiming to showcase local talent and cultivate human creativity in the region.

Kavango West Governor Verna Sinimbo said she has observed poor attendance at national consultative meetings, urging office bearers and community members to take part.

She made the call during the National Upstream Petroleum Local Content Policy consultative meeting at Nkurenkuru.

The Kavango West Region has prioritised empowering communities, transforming agriculture, and creating sustainable employment, which are at the top of its list.

Governor Verna Sinimbo said this while delivering her maiden State of the Region Address on Friday.

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training sector is working to change the public's perception that vocational training caters only for those with low grades who don't qualify for university entrance.

Kavango West Region's regional leaders and the police have called for community collaboration in addressing crime and in accelerating development across the region.

The Governor of the Kavango West Region, Verna Sinimbo, accompanied by various regional leaders, paid the Kasera family in Sarukwe village a visit following the death of two children due to suspected food poisoning.

The Sinomine Tsumeb Smelter has added more mining activities as a means to create new skills.

Speaking at the Tsumeb Copper Festival, Deputy Minister of Industrialisation and Trade Verna Sinimbo said the youth are required to acquire these skills for Namibia to become an industrialised nation.
