Gobabis Standard Bank staff spent Ascension Day with vulnerable children housed at Val and Opstaan Care Centre in the Gobabis informal settlement.

Staff members prepared breakfast and lunch for a group of more than twenty children.

Group Spokesperson Jaco Barnard said it is high time that everyone come on board to aid the needy and make them feel special.

Omaheke Governor Pijoo Nganate commended Standard Bank and its staff for the helping hand extended.

The third edition of the Standard Bank Junior Hockey National Festival took place at Windhoek High School for two days. Both U11 girls and boys from different hometowns participated in the festival at the Windhoek High School field on Saturday. Each team played three matches in their respective pools, resulting in two teams from each pool advancing to the quarterfinals.

The fair aims to promote the booming biomass sector in Namibia.

The CEO of Namibia Biomass Industry Group, Progress Kashandula, says Namibia is impacted by bush encroachment, and when approached correctly, it can lead to increased livestock production, groundwater recharge, employment, and biodiversity.
